The rain has really held us up. We've been ready for framing for over 2 weeks now, and it just keeps raining. Our driveway had to be dry enough for the delivery trucks to make it up and by the time it would dry out, we would get another down-pour.
We do have our electric poles in now and wired up. We've got our temp pole set up. All we have to do is have it inspected and they'll turn the service on. We've also got our electric conduit down and inspected.
Our waterlines are in. All we have left on that is adding a faucet by our campfire area. We decided to put a pipe tee down there so that we can have a faucet there. It will go right up next to our second electric pole. So, we have to hook that up. Also, we have to put our waterline under the creek. We were originally told by the water company to put the pipe over the creek and build a concrete dam around it to protect it, so we did that just to find out that the "rules" have changed just this year and somehow the water company didn't know. The inspector told us that now instead of going over the creek (like every other house on our street), we have to actually cut the creek bed with a concrete saw and place the pipe under the creek. So, that's the next project. Not exactly looking forward to that one.
Alan got more gravel on that driveway, so that the delivery guys could make it up the hill easier. The bulk of the lumber has been delivered now. We've had 2 of 3 truck loads, so luckily our framers are starting tomorrow (Thursday). Thank goodness. They don't think it will take much more than a week to complete.
Luckily, after we get the framing complete, the weather won't delay us anymore. There will always be something that we can be working on inside. So, we're just looking forward to that.
I've got a few pictures of us doing the lines and the framers carrying beams up the driveway:
