Deck and More Seed

We are almost finished with our deck! We have to finish the stairs and take off some of the little brace boards that we used just to hold boards before they were nailed. In the pictures, you will see a few of the random boards nailed to the large posts...they're coming off. Other than that though, all we have to do is stain it....but we need to wait a few weeks to do that. With pressure treated lumber you're not supposed to stain it right away.

The next door neighbor boys came over yesterday....so I put them to work. We got the entire front hill seeded and strawed! All I had to do was say "who wants to throw grass seed on the hill?"....they were practically fighting over it. Granted, a lot of it ended up in their hair or down their shirts, because they had a seed fight during it but hey....I didn't have to do it, so it's a plus!

To keep them occupied after that, Alan handed them hammers, nails and scrap wood pieces... they were busy for hours making wood weapons or something...I dunno. Gotta love fall break, or whatever they're on....
